HIMSS25 was a great conference this year, it was an incredible opportunity to reconnect with people and companies I have not spoken to for a few years. If you didn’t have the chance to go, here are my top 3 take aways:
1. Generative AI is well beyond the hype cycle, it is now an essential component of a digital transformation strategy, a product’s value proposition and an organization's retention and recruitment strategy
2. Implementing AI Scribe does not equate to an AI Strategy or Plan. It was evident that Scribe technology is plentiful and the differentiators are difficult to discern. A consolidation of the market is underway.
3. Enthusiasm for accelerating digital transformation in the industry was palpable. One of the largest booths on the floor was Microsoft. The Tech Giants and non-traditional players have moved into the market, they are redefining healthcare on their terms. Legacy organizations and health systems that are clinging to legacy technology, slow to adopt new processes and tools, or focused on incremental change will be left behind, outpaced and obsolete. I am confident the trade floor will change rapidly over the coming 3-5 years.
On Friday, October 18, 2024, Hamilton Health Sciences hosted its inaugural "Health Innovation for All" event, featuring keynote addresses and discussions on designing and implementing more equitable healthcare solutions. Jennifer MacGregor of Elewana Advisory was the closing keynote speaker, speaking on dual transformation, celebrating failure and agile innovation to drive radical change across large organizations to improve outcomes.
As a graduate of the Leading Women Executives program, it was an honor to participate alongside incredibly successful women executives at the Anniversary event. A key topic for the day was “How to Speak Fluent AI as an Executive”.
I am grateful for the opportunity to participate in the LWE program and to be an active alumni. The women I have met and had the opportunity to reconnect with at the Anniversary event are accomplished, courageous, and brilliant individuals.
Thank you to Daniella, Deb, Cheryl and Sheila.
